Reflections from Giving Day 2025
Alumna Constancia Muswerakuenda ‘25 made her first gift to GW during Giving Day on April 2-3. Below, Constancia shares more about her decision to give back in support of GW.
What inspired you to give to GW?
Constancia: I feel connected and grateful. I have lived the impact. I am investing where roots were planted, and I understand now how every gift adds up to something meaningful. I received a tuition award that made a difference in my education, and now I am a part of the incredible GW University Advancement team that works hard to make that difference for others.
Where on campus did you give?
Constancia: I gave to the class of 2025 because they are standing exactly where many of us stood: on the edge of something new, hopeful, and maybe a little uncertain. Personally, it was a way of saying I believe in you. I’m rooting for you, and I’m investing in your future.
How would you encourage others to support GW’s mission?
Constancia: Think about the role GW has played in your story, then imagine helping write someone else’s. Supporting GW’s mission isn't just about giving to a university; it's about investing in people, potential, and purpose. It’s helping a first-generation student stay enrolled, funding a research breakthrough, or creating a moment that shapes someone’s future. Start small or big, but start with heart. You don’t need to give a lot to make a difference; what matters most is why you are giving.
