As GW approaches its bicentennial celebration, your help as a volunteer will make a crucial difference for the next generation of GW students through the university’s very first Giving Day.
GW Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising campaign designed to increase philanthropic support on specific areas of the university. What makes giving days successful at universities and organizations across the country is the hard work of volunteers. Without your help, giving days would not be possible.
How to Volunteer for Giving Day
You can sign up to be a Giving Day Advocate to promote awareness of GW Giving Day and the powerful effects of philanthropy on the everyday lives of our students. Giving Day Advocates are critical to the success of GW Giving Day. By becoming an advocate and encouraging other alumni to make a gift, you are amplifying your impact and improving the lives of students for years to come.
Sign up to become a Giving Day Advocate
After signing up, you will receive all the information you need to know prior to Giving Day and how you can help.
After registering, please watch the pre-recorded training here. If you would prefer to attend this same training live, please register for our live session on March 31 at 12 PM ET via Zoom. Please note: the content in both the live training and the pre-recorded training is identical.
Use the Volunteer Toolkit
Check out the Volunteer Toolkit, which has everything you need to be successful. This has email and social media templates, information on how to sign up for your profile on GiveCampus, and more.
Help Before Giving Day
Keep an eye out for quick ways you can help leading up to Giving Day.
Your volunteer manager may need your help emailing a few alumni about Giving Day or posting on social media, which only take a few minutes of time. Your volunteer manager will make sure you have all the tools you need to be successful.
Make Your Gift and Share Your Story
Make a gift online on Giving Day and encourage your GW classmates to join you! Your volunteer toolkit will have sample emails and social media posts to help you get the word out as well as other ways to expand your impact.
